A-P Fonden 3, one of the six national Swedish pension funds, has awarded three European mid-cap equity mandates worth €450m ($546m) to BNP Paribas Asset Management, Axa Rosenberg Investment Management and Kempen Capital Management.

The appointments by the €16bn fund are part of a move towards more active fund management by introducing more external managers for US and European mandates.
