Arctic sledding

Charity benefits from freezing adventure

It’s a common dilemma: what to do to raise money for charity? Bozena Jankowska, head of RCM’s sustainability research team who is no stranger to the marathon-running route to fundraising, wanted to do something a little different, so she travelled to the icy climes of Finnmark in northern Norway to take part in a dog-sledding event.

"I've never done anything like this before," said Jankowska. "I had four dogs and you have to bear in mind these dogs are super hyperactive. All they think about is pulling you at incredible rates of acceleration and fighting with their nearest neighbour, and it was by no means an easy task to harness them to the sleds."
