One of the most widely watched gauges of investor sentiment in the global economy flashed red on Wednesday, when the yield on 10-year US government bonds fell below the two-year debt.

The yield available to investors in 10-year Treasuries dropped below 2% for the first time since the global recession that followed the 2008 financial crisis. On Thursday, 30-year Treasuries followed suit.
