The cream of the hedge fund industry gathered last night with royalty, rock stars and a host of celebrities to help children's charity Absolute Return for Kids celebrate its tenth anniversary.

Guests went through high security to arrive at the party, held in an enormous tent in Kensington Palace Gardens. The evening saw the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge undertake their first public engagement since their wedding in April, and the Duchess made a glamorous debut in a dusky pink gown by designer Jenny Packham.
