‘It has become the single issue some people are voting on – and this is bipartisan’

The Ark Innovation fund’s Cathie Wood roused crypto bulls at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami by touting bitcoin as not only a good investment and an inflation hedge, but also as a uniter of a divided US population.

“It has become the single issue some people are voting on – and this is bipartisan,” she said onstage to thousands of spectators at the conference. “It’s a bipartisan issue — it is bringing our country together in some ways. That is a radical shift over the last few years.”

“I remember [Treasury secretary Janet Yellen’s] first comments about bitcoin, money laundering, you know, nefarious characters, environmental damage… and then two weeks ago, someone's whispering in her ear. There is someone whispering in the ears of politicians: ‘If you want to lose, if you want the US to lose out on this – one of the most amazing, innovational platforms of all times – you keep talking like that.’ So she has changed her tune.”
