Management, staff and shareholders of Artemis Investment Management are understood to have shared £65m (€101m) from the merger with ABN Amro's unit trust business.

Both companies refuse to comment on the amount paid for ABN's 58% stake in the company, but a source close to the merger said that Artemis was valued at £65m pre-deal by ABN.
