Private equity’s reputation took another drubbing from politicians as its role on the UK high street came under fire.

An influential group of MPs questioned media-shy mogul Mohsin Issa more than two years on from when he and his brother Zuber teamed up with private equity firm TDR Capital to buy Asda for £6.8bn.
