The former co-head of UK and Irish banks equity research at Royal Bank of Scotland, named a Financial News Rising Star late last year, has emerged at the Asian brokerage CLSA, which was recently acquired by China's Citic Securities.

Asheefa Sarangi joined CLSA in Singapore as a research analyst focused on banks in the city-state earlier this month, according to sources familiar with the situation. A spokeswoman for CLSA confirmed the hire.
