Ashmore has opened an office in Qatar, making it the latest financial services group to establish a presence in the Middle East.

The $46.2bn emerging markets asset manager said in a 21 May statement that it had been authorised by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority — a move it said will allow it to advise on investment opportunities and establish relationships with investors in the region.
