Asia ‘at risk' without more harmonisation

Asian banks risk losing business and capital flows to other parts of the world if they do not drive for greater regional harmonisation, according to industry participants speaking at Sibos, the annual banking operations seminar.

Karen Fawcett, the global head of transaction banking at Standard Chartered Bank, said: "There has been a lot of groundwork but very few results to date. The banking community must be more proactive in working with governments and regulators."
