Euro corporate credit underperformed government bonds in 2000 but this will not be the case in 2001, according to Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.

Corporate bonds have taken a hammering this year as downgrades on both sides of the Atlantic led to fears of credit erosion in the investment grade sector and prompted investors to demand higher premiums to lend companies money in the bond markets.
