John Atkin, account manager for the Nordic region at Baring Asset Management (BAM), has left to join Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (Swip), where he will be reunited with his former colleague Martin Ortwing.

Ortwing joined Swip, the investment operation of Scottish Widows, the UK life insurer owned by Lloyds TSB, as head of Nordic business two months ago and is responsible for business development and client liaison. In a move away from Nordic coverage, Atkin will join the UK business development team as a director, reporting to Omainder Dhillon, head of UK business development at Swip.
