Attack could end cheap insurance

A three-year spell of surprisingly cheap terrorism insurance cover in the City of London and Canary Wharf may be coming to an abrupt end in the wake of the devastating attacks in the US.

Insurers covering US risks could also follow the example of the UK, where insurers stopped including such cover in 1993 after suffering huge commercial building losses from the IRA bombs at St Mary Axe and Bishopsgate.
