The success of the flotations of Umbro, the football products firm and Auto-Teile-Unger (ATU), the German car parts specialist, are set to bolster fundraising by Doughty Hanson which wants to raise €3bn ($3.6bn) of new money.
Both ATU and Umbro are portfolio companies from Doughty Hanson's $2.66bn third fund, which closed in September 1998 and is now 85% invested. It held a €705m first close on its fourth fund in September last year.
