Aulagnon takes hands-on control at SG

Société Générale will not replace Jérôme Calvet, its head of European mergers and acquisitions, who left to become co-managing director of Lehman Brothers for France.

The French bank said on Thursday that Thierry Aulagnon, head of the investment banking division for Europe and until this week Calvet's direct boss, would directly supervise the entire range of M&A activities in Europe. This is in addition to his other responsibilities as the top executive in charge of equity capital markets, sales and trading, and research.
