Aviva Investors has announced that Susan Schmidt will head its US equities team, as the firm looks to expand its “geographical footprint in the asset class” after a wave of nine hires to its UK, global and emerging market equities teams earlier this year.

The asset manager, which currently looks after over £348bn in assets, announced Schmidt’s appointment on October 1, alongside its intention to strengthen its grip on the US market.
