Axa Real Estate Investment Management has hired a high-profile manager from Standard Life Investments to head up its European Added Value fund, after the current manager left to rebuild the UK property team at Credit Suisse.

Martin McGuire is currently responsible for Standard Life's £2bn (€3bn) Life Property fund. Axa said he is due to join Axa Reim later this year.
