Philip Perrotta, legal director of the aircraft services group at BAE Systems, the UK aerospace and defence company, is to join Eversheds banking team in London as the UK's largest law firm builds its asset-based financing capabilities.

Eversheds' UK banking team has over 70 banking lawyers, including 24 partners of which only three, including Perrotta, are based in London. His arrival is part of Eversheds' plans to increase the firm's London presence, progress that has been slow partly because of the dominance of larger established international law firms such as Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
