Bailey strikes upbeat tone on UK recovery

Andrew Bailey also said that quantitative easing was not going anywhere for now

The governor of the Bank of England delivered a cautiously optimistic assessment of the UK’s recovery on 29 September, striking an upbeat tone ahead of what could be a challenging winter for the economy.

Giving a speech at a virtual event for Queen’s University Belfast, Governor Andrew Bailey said that the UK’s economy third quarter economic recovery is a “bit ahead” of where the central bank thought it would be.
