Baillie Gifford adds three as Burns plans retirement

Baillie Gifford, the independent Scottish fund manager, has added three partners and said that Richard Burns, joint senior partner and chief investment officer, is to retire after 33 years at the company.

The new partners are: Jonathan Bates, a fund manager in the North American investment department; Patrick Edwardson, a fund manager in the UK investment department; and Iain McCombie, a fund manager in the UK investment department.
