Baker McKenzie London managing partner Edward Poulton’s first job was working for a pyramid scheme in Spain.

“Our boss always said that what we were selling was sh*t at half its normal price and he’d tell us: ‘Today, we’re selling sh*t in the form of a watch or a fake Swiss Army knife.’ We never sold the product so much as our attitude, it was really incredible,” recalls the 47-year-old.
