Banca Intesa delays decision on Alitalia rescue plan

Banca Intesa, the Italian investment bank, has delayed its decision on whether to underwrite the €1.2bn ($1.5bn) rescue rights issue for the country's flag carrier, Alitalia.

The Corriere della Sera said today Deutsche Bank may underwrite the issue with a foreign bank, allowing Intesa to quit the deal. It added that Alitalia wanted to execute the issue by mid-November.
