Bank of America Merrill Lynch has appointed the former head of macro strategy at London hedge fund Arrowgrass Capital to head European equity strategy, a rare example of a senior professional moving from the sellside to the buyside and then back again.
James Barty, currently strategy director at the British Bankers' Association, will join the US bank in March, according to three people familiar with the matter. He will head European equity strategy, according to two of the people.
