Diverse boards help banks through financial crises

Banks with more women on their supervisory boards did better during financial rough patches, study finds

Banks that embrace diversity at a board level are more likely to come out of a financial crisis in better shape, according to new research that examined European financial firms over the course of eight years.

As financial services firms are under increasing pressure to ensure their senior ranks are better represented by a larger cross-section of society, new research from Cass Business School suggests that more diverse boards came out in better shape during times of financial turbulence.
