Bank of America breaks up global markets division

Ed Brown, president of Bank of America's corporate and investment banking unit, has decided to break up the bank's global markets division and has fired Duncan Goldie-Morrison, the division's head.

Brown's decision means that the bank has taken a layer of management out of its corporate and investment banking division. Global markets comprised fixed-income sales and research, credit derivatives, foreign exchange and debt capital markets.
