Trading revenues miss expectations ‘only modestly’, analysts say, comparing well to peers

Shares in Bank of America Merrill Lynch rose 3.7% after it reported results that beat analysts’ expectations for the fourth quarter, with revenues up 11%.

The group’s net profits for the year rose by more than half to $28.1bn, with chief financial officer Paul Donofrio hailing a firm-wide success in 2018: “Each line of business contributed to these results”.
