Emerging market FX trading head leaves BofA Merrill in London

The US bank has been pushing for a greater share of the global foreign exchange market and hopes to become a top 10 dealer in the sector

Bank of America Merrill Lynch, which has been investing in staff and technology in a bid to become a top 10 dealer in the global foreign exchange markets, has suffered the departure of its head of European emerging market FX trading.

Alex Axentiev, the bank's head of European emerging market FX trading, left the bank earlier this month, according to the Financial Services Authority register of approved persons. He was based in London.
