Bank of America Merrill Lynch has handed its global head of equity capital markets a new client-facing role in London — doing away with the title in the process.

Craig Coben has been promoted to vice-chairman of global capital markets, the bank said in a statement. He will not be directly replaced, according to people familiar with the matter.
