Some City women question the Bank's motivation and timing, but others have welcomed it as a positive step

The Bank of England has hosted talks for staff to raise awareness about the menopause, a year after its deputy governor triggered outrage by using the word “menopausal” to describe Britain’s sluggish economy.

The central bank invited healthcare provider Bupa, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the City Mental Health Alliance, to speak to an audience of 80 women and 15 men about the issues surrounding the menopause.
