Bank of Ireland has appointed David Boal as the managing director of its asset management business, the position left vacant by Francis Ellison, who has joined Jupiter.

Boal is an internal candidate. He had occupied various positions within Bank of Ireland Asset Management, most recently as an investment specialist. His career with the value-style fund manager has included an earlier spell at the head office in London.
