Bank of Scotland has added Dresdner Kleinwort Benson to its list of advisers to work on its talks with Abbey National.

Credit Suisse First Boston and Cazenove were appointed at the start of the takeover discussions. Although Bank of Scotland has publicly said that it is unlikely that Abbey National's takeover approach would lead to a satisfactory transaction for its shareholders, talks are still underway.
