Wall Street’s reputation for burning out junior staff with 80-hour-plus weeks is worth it so that bankers can master the profession sooner than any other sector, the chief executive of JPMorgan’s wealth management business has said.

The process of becoming an expert can be shortened from five years to two or three years by working long hours, six days a week, said Mary Erdoes.
