Bankers predict more ECB liquidity

As the effects of the recent intervention begin to wear off, sovereign issuers face a funding squeeze

Bankers are preparing for a further round of cheap three-year financing from the European Central Bank before the end of the year, Financial News can reveal.

The long-term refinancing operations, delivered in two rounds in December and February, injected €1 trillion of three-year financing into the European banking system at a discount rate of just 1%.
