Bankers see greater role for private equity in European M&A

Talk of a slow down of European mergers and acquisitions is failing to impact on investment bankers who expect to profit from corporate demergers as directors concentrate on their core businesses, a new survey has found.

In a survey conducted by Cinven, the European private equity fund, France is the country where most investment bankers expect to see private equity funds play an increased role in mergers and acquisitions, followed by Germany and then the UK.
