Sir Eddie George, who was appointed to the board of NM Rothschild and Rothschild Continuation Holdings on Thursday, has also been made chairman of the bank's fledgling European advisory board.

George, whose tenure as Governor of the Bank of England came to an end in June, becomes the first chairman of the European advisory board, which was formed in March to give high-level advice to Rothschild's clients and investment bankers.
