ING and Hawkpoint are well placed to benefit if two UK entrepreneurs press ahead with expected bids for the pubs business of Six Continents, the hospitality group that is demerging its pubs from its hotel operations.

The banks have recently represented Hugh Osmond and Luke Johnson, both reportedly mulling offers for Six Continent's pubs arm.
