Banks line up for Telecom Italia deal

JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Lazard have orchestrated a €39bn ($43bn) merger between Telecom Italia and Olivetti, the holding company that controls it, as part of a deal involving a slew of investment banks.

Olivetti is being represented in the transaction by JP Morgan, while Goldman and Lazard are working for Telecom Italia.
