A former Citigroup and Credit Suisse managing director with strong ties to the Gulf has been named head of investment banking for central and eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Barclays Capital in the UK bank’s second senior appointment in the emerging markets in as many weeks.

Crispin Osborne joined BarCap this week, a spokesman confirmed. He will be responsible for co-ordinating all client investment banking activity across the region.
