Barclays Capital has hired its second senior fixed income research banker in a week, appointing Jeff Meli from Deutsche Bank as head of US structured credit and quantitative strategy.

Meli joins as a director. His appointment comes a week after the debt-focussed bank recruited Phil Suttle as a managing director and head of emerging markets research in New York.
