Barclays bosses flag CIB improvement as 2016 priority

Jes Staley, the new chief executive of Barclays, reiterated the need to boost returns from corporate and investment banking, as he addressed shareholders for the first time at the bank's annual meeting.

Alongside the bank's first-quarter results on April 27, Staley had hailed the unit's "relatively resilient" performance, but flagged up that further work was needed to boost returns.
