Barclays pay chief to step down in April

The head of Barclays' remuneration committee will step down next month, the bank said on Monday. Barclays disclosed the detail in a tit-for-tat exchange with the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum over claims Sir John Sunderland has been in the job too long.

Sunderland will hand over his responsibilities as chairman of Barclays' board remuneration committee to Crawford Gillies at the end of the bank's annual general meeting with shareholders on April 23, 2015, Barclays said in a statement on Monday evening.
