Barclays reveals five earned £5m-plus in 2012

Annual report shows five employees earned more than £5m each last year as the UK bank seeks to shed more light on remuneration

Five employees at Barclays earned more than £5m each in 2012, a year that heralded extensive personnel and strategy changes for the bank in the aftermath of the Libor rate-rigging scandal.

The five unidentified individuals were the highest earners across the UK banking group's staff base, according to Barclays' annual report published this morning, which for the first time broke down employees' remuneration by pay bracket.
