Expect pickier investors, Barclays bond chiefs warn borrowers

UK bank's European DCM and syndicate heads foresee more challenging conditions but more interesting deals in the rest of 2015

Bond chiefs at Barclays are anticipating a busy end to 2015 across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, but they have warned that issuers can expect to come under greater scrutiny from investors after a period of heightened market volatility.

Jonathan Brown, head of European fixed income syndicate, said he and his colleagues have returned from their summer breaks to "a very different market to the one we faced in Q1 and Q2".
