Barclays builds utilities research team with Macquarie duo

Barclays has been keen to stress its ambitions in investment research, which the bank sees as crucial to its broader equities business

Barclays has hired two analysts from Macquarie to re-build its utilities research team in a sign of the UK investment bank’s desire to grow its equities business.

Dominic Nash and his former Macquarie colleague Peter Crampton have moved to Barclays’ utilities team. Nash will be the head of utilities and Crampton has joined as an analyst, a Barclays spokeswoman said. They join utilities analyst Catherine Hubert-Dorel on the team.
