Barclays Capital has raised $1bn (â¬644m) to invest in junior debt as investment banks, hedge funds and private equity firms are taking advantage of depressed prices in the loan markets with the launch of funds that are looking to raise $12bn.
The Barclays Structured Principal Investing Fund may seek additional commitments of up to $500m.
