Peter Goettler, the head of debt capital markets (DCM) at Barclays Capital who was hired last year in an audacious team move from Deutsche Bank, has been made head of investment banking for the Americas.

Barclays hired Goettler along with Grant Kvalheim, John Winter and various US and European professionals after it failed to poach a huge fixed income team from Credit Suisse First Boston.
