Barclays Capital and Shell Trading, the trading arm of Royal Dutch Shell, has completed its first EU emissions trade. BarCap set up an environmental markets desk in March.

The trade was also the first brokered deal based on the standard documentation for over-the-counter emissions trading produced by the International Swaps and Derivatives Association.
