Jes Staley, the chief executive of Barclays, will be fined by financial regulators over his attempts to reveal the identity of a whistleblower in 2016 — a scandal that has raised fresh questions about culture at the UK banking giant.
Barclays said on Friday that the UK Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority had concluded an investigation — begun last year — into the CEO's conduct in the matter, which came to light a year ago.
