Barclays hands Jenkins Middle East role

Barclays plans to win more lucrative investment banking and asset management business from core clients in the Middle East after handing Roger Jenkins, one of its top lieutenants, additional responsibility to spearhead the bank’s push in the region.

Jenkins, who runs the UK bank's private equity, principal investments and structured capital markets divisions, is now taking on a new position as chairman of investment banking and investment management for the Middle East to drive the bank's regional operations.
