Barclays hired Peter Ward, an 11-year JPMorgan veteran, to lead its global electronic trading team.

Ward is set to join Barclays in September as head of electronic trading and digital strategy, reporting into C.S. Venkatakrishnan, the bank's co-president who took charge of its global markets business in September following a major reshuffle at the top, according to a person familiar with the matter. He will be based in New York.
